Overview:
Have you ever seen footage of SAS soldiers abseiling into a building from a helicopter and through 'that looks pretty cool'? Well you'd be right it is pretty cool, but abseiling isn't just for the armed forces, you too can have a go.
If you have nerves of steel and ice water running through your veins a triple abseil will hold no fears for you, action man; however if you're a little wary of launching yourself off the edge of a cliff attached only by a rope, you couldn't be in better hands as our qualified instructors are masters at putting the nervous at ease and making sure everyone has an unforgettable day.
You'll abseil at 3 different locations which become increasingly challenging. Firstly, you'll head to woodland just outside of Bristol where you will be kitted out in all the necessary equipment and given a safety briefing before having a go at your first abseil. You'll be high above the valley floor overlooking treetops and will drop 25m down into the valley.
Once you've all had a go at the 'training' abseil, you'll move on something a little move advanced and dare we say it, frightening. Your group will head to a site which offers magnificent views of the Bristol Channel, where a 40m drop down an overhanging cliff face will await you. The site is very exposed so if there's a bit of wind blowing it'll definitely add to the thrill!
After two abseils you'll be ready to move onto the main event, the monster 50m drop into Avon Gorge. You should have built up enough confidence by now to take on the mighty gorge, which is thrilling descent. With the instructors guiding you all the way you should be able to relax and enjoy the ride...hopefully!
