Crystal Challenge

Crystal Challenge

Overview:
Have you taken part in the usual team building days before and left feeling a little uninspired? Crystal Challenge is the ultimate team game, requiring a broad range of physical and mental skills and huge amounts of teamwork. Based around the Crystal Maze gameshow of the 1990s, this fun and challenging activity sees team members having to strategically work together in various game zones to earn crystals.

The host, who'll don the traditional leopard skin coat, will split your group into teams who will rotate round the different challenges. Complete your task in the alloted time and you will receive a crystal. Riddles, anagrams or cryptic clues will guide you to your next game zone and another exciting challenge. Teams will eventually be brought together to see who has won the most crystals and therefore enter the Crystal Dome!

The two top teams will do battle in the finale event, taking it in turns to enter the Crystal Dome, trying to collect as many money tickets as possible in the allocated time. The amount of time each team has in the dome is relative to the amount of the crystals they have collected during the day.

The challenges will be in the Mental, Skill and Physical Zones, just like the real show. Your challenges will be taken from the list below:

Physical:
Arachnophobia- Teams must pass through the spider's web without waking the spider.

Treasure Island- Transport your team across shark infested water to a treasure island using only boards and planks. Get all of your team across and unlock the treasure chest and take the crystal.

Amazon Obstacle- Build a vessel to convoy your team across a treacherous stretch of water. There's a crystal waiting on the other side (NB. Access to water is needed).

Cranium- Your team must build a freestanding device, no higher than 3ft tall which is capable of lifting a bucket of water.

Block Puzzle- Using wooden blocks you must construct a shape to replicate the one displayed on the wall. This is nowhere near as easy as it sounds!

Battering Ram- The group must use the tools provided to build a battering ram which they use to knock open different boxes. Once they have opened all the boxes they will get the key to the final box which contains the crystal.

Mental:
Save The World- You and your team must save the world from nuclear obliteration by diffusing an atomic bomb. One member of the team will be with the bomb relaying clues back to the rest of the team via walkie talky. Crack the code in time and win a crystal, fail and you'll be blown to bits.

Pharaoh's Towers- A real brain-teaser. You have five different blocks piled up to make a pyramid. The task is to get all the blocks on to mat three in the same order as they were on mat one.

Chemical Catastrophe- There's been a chemical spillage and one member of your team must remove containers using a rope and pulleys, but he/she will be blindfolded and will rely on the rest of the team for guidance.

Ship Maths- The ship's captain knows where the crystal is, but he's lost. You must help the captain regain his bearings and lead you to the crystal by solving a number of maths puzzles.

Dead Man- There's been a murder, but the detective in charge is struggling and needs help solving cryptic clues to lead him to the murderer.

Skill:
Flock 'Em In- One of your team plays the shepherd and has to direct the rest of the team, the blindfolded sheep, into a pen against the clock using noises only! Baaaaa-rilliant fun.

Eggspertly Done- You'll have to work together to design and build an egg launcher capable of tossing an egg out of sight. No team members will be allowed to touch the egg at any point and a broken egg means no crystal!

Knock Their Blocks Off!- Your team must build a chariot and then, pulled by two other team members, one of you ride it knocking over enemy soldiers using a lance as you go. Knock all the soldiers' blocks off and you win a crystal.

Phileas Fogg's Adventure- Teams have to transport a balloon carrying Phileas Fogg and Passepartout around the world without touching it. Do it within the alloted time and you'll be rewarded with a crystal.

Hoop Throwing- The crystal is locked in amongst bamboo tubes which have hooks attached. Land the hoops onto the hooks in the correct order and the crystal will be released.

Catapult Targets- The team must fire a catapult at a variety of targets which all have to be knocked down for you to win the crystal.

Laser Beams - The crystal is protected by a high security lasers. You must retrieve the crystal without breaking any of the beams and alerting the guards (must be set up indoors).
