Archery is a great event for people of all ages and abilities. I think we all know the basics - bow, arrow and a target that looks like a collection of multi-coloured polo mints. From there it starts to get more difficult, it is not an Olympic sport for nothing!

Instructors will be on hand to show you the basics, including how to handle the bow, how to stand and where to aim. It's then up to you to try and hit the target and score as many points as possible. They will help you correct any mistakes you're making and with a bit more practice you should be firing all your arrows into the centre.

Some sites offer variations on the basic theme, offering woodland targets which give you a closer simulation of hunting. Crossbows and bolts are another option at selected venues.

Note
Archery will normally need to be combined with other activities. This means that your group can be split up into teams that rotate between activities ensuring less waiting around time and generating a competitive element between the teams.
