Art Hunt is a combination of a treasure hunt - locating buildings, objects, signs, venues or other such locations from an image (like a photo) and finding them on a treasure hunt map and then adding your own artistic perspective on the same view with a Polaroid picture.
The event can be done on foot, or for the more indulgent, in the back of a limousine.
The Rationale
Quite often we all see the same images, so what changes our perspective on things? It’s often our new interpretation of the same images we see that makes us start looking at things in a different way. This is what happens in art when we see transitions of art through the ages like surrealism, impressionism or cubism - often the same subject but a new interpretation. Some people question whether this is actually art at all!
But perhaps this continual interpretation of the same will allow us to think more creatively and can help us think about presenting our business services, managing our team, or handling our customers in more dynamic and alternative ways – perhaps to retain the competitive edge?
The Game
Identify all the locations given on the ordnance survey map. Here you will find the image on the picture. Instruct your driver to take you to the location.
Find the item in the picture e.g. a red phone box, a pub, a swing etc… and take a Polaroid picture of that object from your own perspective. Discuss the work with the team and plan carefully before you shoot.
If Tracy Emmit can do it, I'm sure you can!
Finally, name the work of art and add to your collection, which will be judged at the end of the event.
