Overview:
The stunning surroundings of the Vale of York may look the tranquil country idyll, but they hide fifty acres of the most insane terrain in the country! This purpose-built site contains truly amazing off-road territory in five distinct zones - from the mud and water sections all the way through to the incredible advanced area with jaw-dropping climbs, insane side slopes and thick mud that will test even the most experienced driver. This is the perfect place to host the perfect adrenaline charged stag party!
4x4 Off-Road Adventures:
Wallowing through deep mud & water, ascending impossibly steep climbs, creeping over breathtaking crests - you'll do it all and more behind the wheel of these amazing 4x4 vehicles. Your team will be introduced to an instructor and be given an overview of the local terrain and weather conditions and what the focus of the driving experience will likely be (traction and winch recovery in thick muddy weather, suspension articulation and ground reading in hot, dry weather etc). Your instructor will take you through the features and capabilities of the 4x4 vehicle you will be driving, before taking you out on a demonstration drive. Once completed the instructor will take you to a suitable part of the course where you will begin your adventure, tackling the obstacles in your path. If on a shared drive, you will rotate regularly between drivers as new techniques and new areas of the course are demonstrated to you. The 4x4s seat 3 people and the driver and there are both Land Rovers and smaller, zippy Suzuki’s to choose from! There are 3 separate levels for different abilities:
Beginner:
Starting with a comprehensive introduction in the awesome Land Rover (or our incredible Suzuki Jimnys), you'll learn the techniques to take on and conquer jawdropping obstacles. Then it's up to you to tackle the introductory area (itself no mean feat - mud, rocks, ruts and an awesome flat-top ascent await you!).
Duration: Approximately 2 hours.
Intermediate:
After successfully completing your induction on the introductory zone (as above for novices, or a compressed reintroduction to the task for experienced drivers), our instructors will take you through an intermediate course where you can test your skills against side slopes that seem impossibly steep, thick mud that threatens to stick you fast and rutted sections that make steering redundant!
Duration: Approximately 3 hours.
Extreme:
A full day of hair-raising 4x4 is truly the only way to prove your mastery over the tough terrain! The instructors will assess your skills before setting you against the obstacles. The sharpest inclines, the thickest mud, the most unforgiving ruts - all of this will focus your mind to drive like never before! You will need the lunch break to recover before it all begins again in the afternoon. For novices, this is a one-stop route to becoming a master off-roader.
Duration: Approximately 4 hours.
4x4 Off-Road Driving – 30 minute Blast:
Strap yourself in alongside one of our experts and let them take you to the limit on the off-road course. You’ll experience the ultimate hazards, the most incredible terrain and the most impressive views of Yorkshire 4x4 Country – all from the safety of the passenger seat! These showcases are half an hour of adrenaline-pumping off-road driving by the very best - so whether you're staring down at thick mud on a mind-bending side angle, slipping and sliding down a slick hill towards the next incredible obstacle or feeling the suspension rise and fall across seemingly impassable terrain, you know you and the vehicle are being taken to the absolute limit!
Food & Drink:
This site has a Land Rover-themed clubhouse to grab a drink and a bite to eat. We can provide buffet lunches for all-day customers and also barbeque in the summer months. Alternatively, we have an arrangement with the award-winning pub/restaurant 300 yards from our site to cater for individuals and groups with their excellent menu.
Notes:
- The reality of off-roading is that vehicles can get stuck and problems can occur - we will always endeavour to ensure that delays are kept to a minimum.
- The 4x4 Blast is a passenger-only experience. One participant can choose to drive for the 30 minute session for an additional fee.
