Overview:
There’s something magnetic about a beautiful woman. That’s how we feel about
Valencia: it's hard to rip yourself away from her stylish and stunning charm. You just can’t help but be impressed by this fine Spanish city. With some of the best bars and cool beaches where you’ll find lovely (and beautiful!) senoritas – this is a not-to-be-missed
stag weekend destination.
In a Nutshell:
- This is Spain’s 3rd biggest city.
-
Valencia has a population of nearly 800,000.
- While the locals speak Spanish, you’ll find most of them can speak English. Some might even speak English at a better rate than your espanol!
Getting There:
Reach Madrid from most UK airports in about 2½ hours. Many airlines fly to
Valencia including Ryanair and Easyjet. Chillisauce recommends booking your flight as soon as possible.
Getting Around:
Don’t worry about getting to and from the airport or your activities while your stag do buddies are in Valencia – we’ve got it all under control for you. Other
stag weekend guys may wander the streets without a clue, but they don’t have Chillisauce in charge of everything. An event manager will greet you and handle all of those details – so you can spend your time partying and getting on to important things like stag nights.
Valencia can easily be traveled on foot. You’ll find a great public transportation system – so take the bus if you want to give your “dogs” a break from walking. The Metro in Valencia is great but not ideal for smaller trips. You can’t get anywhere in the centre but it is one of the best ways to get to the beach. Taxis are easy to find but be sure to agree on the fee before hopping in.
Accommodation:
Chillisauce offers a variety of accommodations. Whether you desire a five-star hotel or just a comfy bed, we’ve got that and everything in between.
Daytime Activities:
Find the most popular
stag weekend activities like paintball or quad biking – and some unique Valencia favorites. Try abseiling waterfalls, tickets to a Spanish football match or scuba diving.
Nightlife:
Valencia truly knows how to experience the weekend as a serious party. From Friday night until Sunday morning you’ll find a whole party scene. It’s called ‘La Movida’ or ‘the movement.’ The tradition in Valencia is to stay out till daybreak so expect some late nights/early mornings on your stag do. Valencia girls are gorgeous so there’s always someone you’ll want to buy sangria for or dance the salsa with till dawn.
Eating:
In Valencia you’ll want to try paella – the dish was invented here. Paella Valenciana has rabbit, chicken, snails, broad beans and butter beans. Actually everything is delicious here – so you’ll always find something hearty and substantial for that hangover lunch or breakfast.
Drinking:
As you’d expect, Valencia has a lively, active and fun party scene. Spain is the third largest producer of wine worldwide – so be sure to order the vino while in Valencia. Sangria is a top tourist choice but it can at times be expensive. Beer lovers will want to try San Miguel, a pint costs about £2.
Weather:
Valencia has four distinct seasons and a lovely Mediterranean climate. The summers are warm and dry. Winters are mild and humid. Autumn and spring are known for being a bit stormy.
Currency:
Buy some euros before you leave for your stag weekend. You’ll find lots of places to change money and ATM machines, so remember your cash and credit cards.
Some may consider this city to be pricy but compared to London and Paris it is fairly reasonable.
