Before you jump head first onto the Bulgarian beer bandwagon and get carried away with all the fine ales and lagers on offer, it's worth pondering the sheer volume of sensational wines available. There's pretty much a wine for every day of the year, and the most top end bottles of top end bottles won't usually set you back more than a tenner. The land of modern day Bulgaria has been producing wine since a couple of thousand B.C, so it's safe to say that the Bulgarians know a thing or two about producing a top drop of plonk.
Homer even mentioned wine production in these regions in his 'Odessey'. Red, white, sparkling and all the wines in between are made with pride, combining age-old traditions and modern technology to produce some of Eastern Europe's finest export quality wine and we will take you on a tasting tour of the best regional Bulgarian wines on offer.
