Best known for it's maritime history (it even boasts a Sir Frances Drake bowling green no less!), Plymouth is now a swinging university town and a West County party mecca. With all the students knocking about the levels of rum and gin being drunk haven't changed all that much and the nightlife is still quite vibrant - just without the press gangs! The Barbican area of the city is the focal point for the many fine bars and eating establishments.
