Perth Highland Games

Highland Games:
The games give you an opportunity to try your arm at traditional events that William Wallace himself used to get fit before taking on the might of the English army. Still incredibly popular amongst native Scots, the real Highland Games attract contestants from all over the world who astound huge crowds with their throwing and lifting feats accompanied by the sound of bagpipes.

If you haven't tossed in competition against your mates since private school, grab a caber and launch it as far as possible. You may have had a go at the shotput when you were younger but why throw a ball of metal when you can throw a big stone? Have a go at tossing a sheaf (bundle of hay in a bag) over a pitchfork, or the ever-challenging 'weight over a bar' which is pretty self explanatory. Haggis rolling, hurling the wellies and tug o' war are also popular amongst the clansmen and women.

All of the events cater for punters of all shapes and sizes, so you don't have to be built like Geoff Capes to have a brilliant time. Kilts are optional.

You will partake in the following events:
* Tossing the Caber
* Weight over Bar
* Tossing the Hammer
* Haggis melt challenge
* Wellie Hurling
* Putting the Stane
* Farmers Dash
* Tug o War

Catering:
A range of catering options is available on site.

Duration:
2 hours.

Note:
The site can provide waterproof clothing but we recommend that guests bring their own wet weather gear and sturdy footwear that can take a bit of mud.

Great Fun! Again staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the events and provided lots of instruction and tips on how to best do the events, only downside was the distance from the hostel, almost 45 minutes in the taxi was a bit of a killer with a hangover!

Great fun. Taxi drivers didn't know where it was at the location which meant to loads of walking to get to the right place.

This was a brilliant activity. On arrival we where met by a really friendly man who explained all about the activity. A second man then took us for the activities was really good fun and understood we were on a stag do and wanted a bit of a laugh. He kept things in the the spirit that we wanted and made the experience memorable. Highly recommended.

It was more or less what I was expecting but a little slow to get going. I think if it was somehow made to be more competitive it would be better. All the really active events we did at the end like running etc maybe could have been littered throughout the 2 hours.

Great thing to do on a Stag do and something different to go karting, paint balling etc. Everyone had such a laugh
