History:
Oxford was first mentioned in writing in the year 912 and it has been influencing the world ever since. The University of Oxford - which includes over 40 colleges - was founded in the 12th Century and constitutes the oldest English-speaking university in the world. Some of the buildings at one of Oxford’s largest colleges, Christ Church, has been featured in the popular Harry Potter movies.
Nightlife:
Oxford is full of fine pubs that sport equally impressive names. Try the Eagle and Child pub, also known as “The Bird and Baby,” or the Gardener’s Arms or the Hobgoblin. There are a large number of nightclubs in town, but its best to call ahead as some are open only to students on certain nights.
