Nottingham Clay Pigeon Shooting
Overview:
In the Bronze Age when a caveman spotted a woman he wanted to marry he would throw stones at her head until she was unconscious and then drag her back to his cave. When she awoke the man would cover her with an antelope fur and consummate the union. In the eyes of the law they were now man and wife.
Of course this often had its drawbacks and frequently the women would either die or become severely brain damaged and historians think this actually held back the evolution of the human race by several thousand years. Clay pigeon shooting is a direct descendant of this ancient ritual, but today the birds you're aiming at will be made of clay and you won't have to marry them afterwards.
Included:
- Expert tuition
- All equipment
- 25 clays
- Group photograph
- Refreshments

great fun, but did get a little windy etc, so would have been nice if they split the group into two, as we were waiting around for ages till our turn...

The guys who ran the shoot were a great laugh and we really had fun. Given the large size of our party it wouldn've been better to have 4 instructors and 4 guns rather than the two. That way there would've been less stnading around. The hut and coffee provided respite from the rain and hale but if we'd realised the shooting range was so unsheltered (it was atop a hill) I think a few people would have worn more layers.

A great way to spend the afternoon, a little way out of town, understandably, but pitched perfectly. Two great instructors who made the event fun and helped ensure that we hit something!!
