After Roman rule in 410 A.D. a decline ensued and then resurgence under the control of the Anglo-Saxons. Throughout much of its history, London has been a centre of culture, government and finance. London sustained much damage from German air raids during World War II that became known as “The Blitz.” However, the city has rebuilt and remains at the forefront of world influence.
