Overview:
A full, active day of abseiling, climbing, scrambling and a navigation challenge.
Itinerary:
Morning – Abseiling
Prepare to introduce your heart to your mouth as you abseil 70ft from a bridge over breathtaking Howstean Gorge. You will have fully qualified instructors to teach you the techniques and guide you down. A vivid description of the stag’s face a he lowers himself over the edge is likely to enliven any best man’s speech.
Afternoon – Climbing / Navigation Challenge
The afternoon will be spent at Brimham Crag which is ideal for introducing beginners to rock climbing.
During the afternoon you will be split into two groups to minimize time spent waiting at the bottom of the cliff to climb.
Climbing – Routes will be chosen based on the abilities of the individual, with each person challenged, but not beyond their limits. You will be taught the rudiments of rope techniques as well as climbing techniques with the emphasis on a fun, safe climb.
Navigation Challenge – Your group will be given maps and compasses and set a navigation challenge which will include climbing, scrambling as well as orienteering skills. The two groups can be timed if you like to earn bragging rights for down the pub later.
