Get the lads’ competitive spirits fired up by hitting this awesome indoor karting track and determining once and for all who’s the fastest on the tarmac. The site features a state-of-the-art scoreboard monitor that displays the lap times for each driver. No telling ‘pork pies’ to your mates about you being quicker than Schumacher - the proof will be on a big screen for all to see!

The Track:
The 375m indoor track features treacherous hairpin turns, sharp bends and long straights. The track layout has been designed to ensure an exciting but safe racing environment for all participants. The track is also 7m wide to ensure there are plenty of safe overtaking spots. The centre also boasts a Flyover/Tunnel section! This addition greatly adds to the overall excitement and overtaking opportunities.

The Karts:
This is the first track in the UK to use the new Rimo Evo 5 high performance karts, setting new standards of performance for indoor karting in the UK due to their unmatched race-like driving characteristics and performance. Incorporating a specially designed alloy frame for optimum handling, the Evo 5 karts feature a race tuned Honda GX 200cc engine and can reach speeds of up to 40 mph. These are used in the Michael/Ralf Shumacher centres in Germany and this is the only track in the UK to feature these fantastic karts.

Open Grand Prix:
Experience the thrill of racing against other drivers in a series of heats. Will you qualify for the grand final and be on the podium to collect your trophy?
 
Format:
- Practice session for each driver to allow familiarisation with karts and track.
- 5 heat races per driver. Starting from different grid positions on each race and racing against different drivers, each heat is 6 laps long and points are then awarded based on finishing positions.
- The race information system (featuring the latest computerised timing system available) displays pictures of the drivers currently racing, the race positions/lap times during the heats and the full points leader board.
- The top drivers qualify for the 10 lap grand final.
- The top 3 drivers climb the podium and are awarded their trophies.
- Digital pictures of the racers can be taken for distribution afterwards.

Start times:
Below are the possible session times. Please not you are required to turn up 30 minutes prior to these times otherwise it may effect your session.

09.00-11.15hrs Session
11.00-13.30hrs Session
13.00-16.00hrs Session 
16.00-18.30hrs Session

Notes:
- Large groups of around 30 will be likely to get exclusive use of the track. Smaller groups (e.g. 15 people) will combine with other groups to fill out the competitions.
- Hot and cold drinks are available, as well as sandwiches and baguettes.
- Buffets can also be arranged. Please request a quote.
- The site features both a lounge area with a screen displaying the action and a trackside viewing area.
- Lockers are available to store your belongings.

Event Overview:
- Drivers register and are kitted out with race suits, helmets and gloves.
- Drivers' briefing covering safety, kart control and racing tips.
- 5 practice laps per driver, observed by our team of trained marshalls.
- Guaranteed 4 heat races per driver. Each race is 5 laps long and you will race against different drivers from different grid positions in each race.
- The race director provides a running commentary on each race and the computer timing system displays the leader board and lap times.
- The top 8 drivers qualify for the gruelling 10 lap grand final.
- Trophies are presented to the 3 winners on the podium.

The Karts:
The karts are fully automatic, which allows you to concentrate on your racing skills. A single hydraulic brake provides sufficient stopping power should you need it. No experience is needed to drive them.
All karts are modified for additional driver safety and protection with anti-flip bumpers, chain guard, axel guard, fuel tank cover and knee protectors.

The Track:
The tracks are designed to be enjoyed by all levels of driver, from the novice to Formula One stars. The emphasis is on fast flowing racing with an ideal mix of fast straights and testing corners. Much of the track is over 30' wide, which allows plenty of overtaking opportunities and makes it easy to avoid drivers who have spun out. Safety features are paramount at Scotkart and the track barrier system uses continuous plastic piping mounted onto tyres to act as an effective buffer if drivers lose control.
