Get the lads’ competitive spirits fired-up by hitting this awesome outdoor karting track and determining once and for all who’s the fastest on the tarmac. Set in the heart of Scotland, the refurbished circuit is now better than ever before, boasting a grippy tarmac surface, testing hairpin turns, sweeping bends and flat out straights.
The Karts:
Brand new 50mph Honda 270cc Biz pro karts, the fastest single-engined hire karts available.
The Track:
The purpose built Karting Circuit is 500m long by 9 metres wide, enabling the Pro Karts to reach a top speed of 50mph.
The site runs events using the latest technology in lap timing equipment, with the average lap time being about 37 seconds. The circuit is also fully floodlit allowing them to run events in the evening.
Grand Prix Race:
After an initial briefing session from one of the instructors, it's out onto the circuit for a few practice laps. Every driver then lines up on the grid for a number of action packed races, followed by semi-finals where drivers battle it out for places in the Grand Prix final. Come first, second or third and it's onto the podium for the traditional trophy and bubbly spraying ceremony.
Itinerary:
- Safety Briefing
- 5 minute practice
- 3 Qualifying Race Heats (5 laps per heat)
- 8 lap Semi-Final
- 10 lap Grand Final
- Presentation Ceremony of trophy and bubbly for the top 3 place holders
Duration:
Approximately 2 – 3 hours, depending on numbers. Minimum of 10 drivers.
Endurance Race:
Racing in teams of your choice, it's out on the circuit for a practice session followed by a gruelling endurance race. Success now depends on negotiating Pit Stops, team tactics and a heady mix of outright speed.
- Groups 10-20: 100 laps (2 per team)
- Groups 15-30: 150 laps (3 per team)
- Groups 20-40: 200 laps (4 per team)
- Trophy & bubbly presentation for the winner
Duration:
Approximately 2 – 4 hours, depending on group size.
