County Durham Stag Weekends

The county of Durham lies in the North East of England and its county centre is the city of Durham. The name Durham itself derives from the Saxon word Dunholme - dun means 'hill' and holme means 'island in the river' (where Durham Cathedral now stands). The Normans changed the name to Duresme later corrupted to Durham. Because Durham was ruled by bishops until 1836 the suffix 'shire' was never added so the county is properly called County Durham not Durhamshire.

Any town centre can be used as your base if you would like to take part in a treasure hunt, Spy Mission or take part in spy-themed team building activities.
