Overview:
There's nothing more manly than spending a night sleeping out in the wilderness. Whilst pampered mummies' boys sip cocktails and sleep in silk sheets at 5* hotels, your group can enjoy a macho hike over Mont Blanc, complete with a night in a mountainside shack. If you haven't got a hairy chest and don't drink beer, don't even attempt this.
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail as the saying goes, and you'll need to be properly kitted out before you hit the mountain. Strong shoes (preferably hiking boots) are a must and it's very important that you bring some extra layers of clothing as the weather can change in a split second. You'll also need some protection against the sun and at least one litre of water.
Accompanied by a mountain guide, your group will spend the day hiking into the back country on the Mont Blanc massif towards your mountain retreat. When you reach your lodgings you'll have dinner and can then relax and enjoy the tranquillity of being alone on the mountain- a million miles away from nagging wives/girlfriends! The alpha males in the group will probably want to head outside, drink neat spirits and light a fire.
Sleeping bags are recommended, but not compulsory, so if you have aspirations of becoming the next Ray Mears, leave your sleeping bag at home and make a bed out of old branches and leaves you find in the woods. The following morning you'll have breakfast before trekking back down to base camp. Remember to bring your camera as the scenery is so spectacular that your eyes might explode.
