Brighton Water Sports Combo Day

Overview
This modern, purpose built 6 acre lake is set in 25 acres of countryside and has superb facilities for a wicked day on the water. With the sun beating down and a few beers on the banks afterwards you would be hard pressed to find a better summer day with a difference.

Select any TWO of the following activities to make up a brilliant Wet 'n' Wild day:-

Raft Building
How would you get by if you were ship-wrecked? This challenge will sort out the hardy Robinson Crusoe-types from the namby-pampy, don't-want-to-break-a-nail wusses. In teams, you will be given ropes, barrels and logs. You have to construct a raft that will get you to a distant buoy and back without falling to pieces. At the end of the day, the groups will race their design against the others for bragging rights that can be immortalized in the best man's speech.

Dinghy Sailing / Toppers
The idea is to keep you as active as possible, so after a short briefing you will each be put in your own dinghy (a small, one-man sailboat) and let loose on the lake at your own peril. This is cracking fun, there's nothing like watching one of your mates get a bit overconfident in his tacking and jibing and then dumping himself in the drink. (There is an instructor on hand at all times and safety is a prime concern.) As well as this being great fun it's the ideal way to find if sailing is for you - next stop the Bahamas!

Kayaking
This is a lot easier to get to grips with than the other water sports. With just paddle techniques and the kayak itself to master initially, you'll soon be motoring. Then it's time to learn more technical aspects such as Eskimo rolls and advanced strokes.

Notes:
- Each activity lasts around two hours - The day starts at 12:30pm, so arrive 30 mins early.
- Food is not included but there is an on site café.

Really good, well organised. However, it was more designed for kids than a group of adults, so we did feel a bit patronised. Plus, the rafts they had us build were too small for 6 guys, so when we got in the raft floats about a foot underwater. They were a bit H&S over the top, teaching us exactly how to build the rafts rather than let us get on and risk them falling apart - which is pretty much the fun of raft building. Overall, it was good. Changing rooms were a bit small though, and only 1 shower for 15 guys.

This was an excellent activity and the bus transfer worked perfectly. The staff were helpful and engaging and added to the enjoyment.
