History and Culture:
Berlin has a long history but is most well known in relation to World War II and the post-war split of the city into eastern and western halves. Interestingly, the city does not try to hide less palatable aspects of its sometimes-sordid history and that attitude is reflected in numerous museums and tours. It’s been two decades since the Berlin Wall fell and the city was re-unified and something of a social renaissance has occurred in that time. Arts, music and other creative communities are thriving and the city is enjoying much international notoriety as a great place to visit.
Nightlife:
Without a doubt, Berlin is a finely-tuned party machine. Berliners love beer. Don’t let your mates down by overlooking this gem for a
stag weekend. Berlin has one of the top club scenes in all of Europe and is a frequent venue for the hottest DJs. There are also tons of bars as Berliners love to socialize over cocktails. The party usually gets going about midnight on weekends and peaks by 3 a.m., although Berlin is known for its decadent after-hours and some clubs don’t close at all the entire weekend.
Eating and Drinking:
Berlin is a hugely multicultural city. Subsequently, the restaurant scene is bountiful and varied. Indulge in the 'wurst' of German Cuisine at delicious street vendor carts or enjoy a full-blown restaurant spread on your stag weekend in Berlin. It is easy to find inexpensive eats (in relation to other western European countries) in the city where taste doesn’t have to be sacrificed. Berlin has a large Turkish population and that country’s cuisine is prevalent as are the foods of many other countries. The city’s specialty is currywurst which is bratwurst covered in ketchup and curry powder. Get in line; this is sure to be a winner on a stag weekend in Berlin.
