General:
Recognizing the need to diversify,
Nottingham refused to be totally dependent upon Industry for it’s economy and reputation. Members of
stag weekends will see a town originally known for lace and bicycles. The town leaders opened roads to education and culture, the result being the
Nottingham that
stag parties see and enjoy today. The city
is alive with activity, reaping the benefits of a thriving tourist presence. Because of a growing student base, stag weekenders enjoy a
Nottingham alive with many choices of activity. Eateries, bars and clubs have multiplied, galleries and museums have become an integral part of everyday life.
History and Culture:
After recovering from World War II, Nottingham began clearing the devastation to rebuild. It made a conscious decision not to rebuild an economy dependent upon only one aspect of their past. industry. When your

The Pharmaceutical and Biotechnical Industries have established for themselves a place in the economy. The number of museums and galleries continue to grow and the people of Nottingham still bask in their history of over 700 years. This history is made apparent by Nottingham castle that stands proud over the city. Your stag do will see cottages from the 1600’s sitting not too far from a “Hooter’s Bar”.
Nottingham Transportation:
As in many cases, any stag do would be doing themselves an injustice if they do not spend time walking through Nottingham, especially city centre. There is public transportation available, busses and trams, should you decide to venture outside the area. You can obtain all-day passes at a very reasonable cost.
Your Nottingham Night out:
If your stag do would like to try some of the places, frequented by the student population, try the “Market Square” area. “Lace Market” will introduce your stag party to some really great restaurants and bars. If you enjoy clubs, such as you will find in London, there is a place called “Social-Sister” located in “Lace Market”. Nottingham has a very diverse selections of nightspots. If your stag party enjoys DJ entertainment, or live music,
you won’t be disappointed. Your Nottingham stag party can enjoy funk or Indie music. The “Hockley” area contains many clubs that offer some really innovative sounds. Finally, if any of the guys would enjoy more of an adult theme in their entertainment, the ladies at the Gentleman’s club “Flirtz” would be more than happy to oblige.
Nottingham Eateries:
If your stag do members are meat lovers, vegans or vegetarians Nottingham has what they are looking for in dining. There are places such as the “Alley Café” that caters to Non-meat taste, and the “Cock and Hoop” is considered one of the more popular places in “Lace Market”.
