Overview:
Shoot a shotgun and then shoot a low score on the golf course with this clay pigeon shooting and golf day.
Clay Pigeon Shooting:
Set in 5 acres of mature woodland, this shooting range has hosted the Scottish Sporting Championships three times in recent years. And capacity wise it has not been unknown for up to 100 people to be safely shooting at one time. There are 12 permanent stands each served by at least 2 traps, offering regularly changed targets. Shooting guests are free to wander through the wood and shoot whichever stands they wish, in whatever order they choose.
The trap release at each stand is electronically controlled (and counted) and shooters can shoot as many or as few targets as they wish. Individual shooters can take advantage of the "delayed release" function, which allows them to select the target or targets of their choice, operate the trap release button themselves and still have plenty of time to shoot the released targets - SAFELY!
There is no pain when using the proper equipment; there are special guns and cartridges to suit all statures. The instructors take pride in introducing novices to this exciting sport. Licences are not needed.
Just wear suitable clothing for the time of year and flat shoes. This adrenaline rush comes with full instruction including a fun, but safe, competition. All equipment and ear protection provided along with 25 clays per person.
9 holes of Golf:
Mark Twain might have thought that golf was ‘a good walk spoilt', but a round on this 9 hole course would have had the American wordsmith eating humble pie. There's no better way to relax than a round of golf so get the Pringle sweater out of the wardrobe, slip on your plus fours and head out onto the links for 9/18 holes. Whether you're a single figure handicapper or don't know a golf club from a nightclub, you're bound to have a great time.
The picturesque River Ore runs alongside the 2nd and 8th and dissects the 3rd fairway and there's a pond guarding the 7th green, so if you're a bit erratic on the tee bring plenty of balls! Proof of ability is required to play so if you have a handicap certificate, bring it with you.
