Overview:
Mention the words ‘Greyhound Racing' and for many it may conjure images of old men in flat caps, dodgy bookies and even dodgier burger vans, but prepare to eat your thoughts as dog tracks now offer all of the top facilities that you would expect at other sports grounds. Plush restaurants, private boxes and great bars are now the order of the day, meaning punters can relax in style whilst lining the pockets of the track bookmakers.
The best place to soak up the atmosphere is down at trackside where there are still plenty of characters to be found.
Even though the sport has done a lot to rid itself of shady image, you can still spot the odd shifty geezer hanging around. All we're saying is, if a race favourite limps home in last place, be very careful who you shake hands with.
