Overview:
Constantly morphing, twisting, turning and changing, Berlin is a city that truly breathes and lives. Incredible and varied architecture, friendly locals, and a plethora of activity and culture seeping from every orifice, Berlin truly is a marvel. With a pulse that puts the rest of the world's capital cities to shame, its lively nightlife, cafes, clubs and bars are doubtlessly some of the best in the world and really do put this top destination a peg above the rest of the rabble.
In a Nutshell:
- Berlin is Germany's capital city and is the largest in the country with a population of 3.
4 million
- The Berlin Wall, which divided East and West Germany, was demolished in 1989. This spelt one thing for the German people. P.A.R.T.Y - an ethos which is still upheld to this date.
- After extensive bombing raids in the Second World War, many ambitious construction programs, each with a unique character, have shaped the widely varied cityscape as it stands today.
Getting There:
You can fly to Berlin from most major UK airports. We highly recommend booking your flights as early as possible. The later you leave it, the more you'll end up paying! Flight time is around 2 hours.
Getting Around:
Berlin's transportation consists of a unified system combining the U and S-Bahns, along with buses and the trams of East Berlin. The U and S-Bahns are the underground (U) system and the faster overground trains (S). All of these can be accessed with the same tickets making traveling around pretty damn quick, efficient and easy.

The winters are cold and wet but rarely extreme. Snowfall is common throughout most of Germany but doesn't often cause any inconvenience in Berlin.
