Nightlife:
Due to Sofia’s tumultuous history, there is a lot of (what we may consider) seedy clubs and pubs to visit at night. Sofia is still building herself up from a past filled of difficulties, and strippers and prostitution are pretty rife. This is a wonderful thing for your stag party because let’s be honest it wouldn’t quite be the same without one. There is a very young night scene in Sofia where popular club and dance music pumps until the early hours of the morning.
Currency:
The currency in Sofia is the Bulgarian Lev.
Weather:
Like with many of the countries in Europe, it is best to visit in the spring or autumn. These are the times when Sofia can really be seen. The weather is temperate and inviting and everything looks and feels appealing. If you are up to a cold winter stag party or a weekend spent in the sun then it doesn’t really matter but the temperatures can get quite extreme at these times. In fact, Sofia has been known to reach temperatures as high as 35°C in the summertime!
Transport:
Transport in Sofia is somewhat limited but that doesn’t mean you need to stay in one place. There are still buses and trams available and it is extremely cheap to take a taxi throughout the city- even cheaper than in the surrounding countries. You can spot these taxis quite easily as any legal taxi operator has to have a yellow vehicle. All in all, a stag party in Sofia is going to be an amazing, unique and eye-opening experience.
