Madrid is not only the capital of Spain, but also the biggest city in Spain, and a great venue for a

Madrid is the 3rd biggest city in the EU – London and Berlin just beat it.
• From March to October is bullfighting season. Bullfights are held daily during the celebration of Madrid’s Patron saint, San Isidro and could be just the bit of danger your stag weekend in Madrid needs. When the festival is over, bull fights are held on weekends.
• The residents of Madrid were traditionally called “gatos” or cats. Nowadays they refer to themselves as Madrileños
• Those who can afford to, still enjoy Siesta’s, due to the midday heat. However most people don’t nowadays have a midday nap.
Daytime Activities:
e To the west of the city, you will find the largest of Madrid’s green areas. With an outdoor municipal pool, cable car trips over the tree tops and a fair ground as well, this is definitely a spot to check out and work on that tan! You never know, you might find some Spanish beauties doing just that! The city centre is a great place to spend the days watching street performances, sampling some glorious food and soaking up some of the vibrant culture- a highly recommended lunch spot for stag parties in Madrid! Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol are two other must see areas- filled with life, food and entertainment!
Nightlife:
The Spanish start later than most, so if you are in a nightclub before 1am you are probably going to be the only ones! Get your Madrid stag party ready for 10pm, and find yourselves a tapas bar to start the night off in. The Plaza Santa Ana is a great starting point for you stag night. If you have had your fill of tapas, there are a myriad of other venues and meal types to be had. Just explore Madrid!
Tablao Flamenco Cardamomo is another recommended way start to the evening and bound to get the
stag party in to the spirit of Spain. Enjoy some beautiful Flamenco dancers, and dances, while getting your stag night started off with great traditional food.
Shopping:
The Chueca and Fuencarral Street areas are the place to go if you need gifts for the ladies back home. This once rundown neighbourhood has been rejuvenated by the predominantly gay community in the area. It is now home to fun and quirky shops, and the landlords are suited to helping you shop for the
stag party or gifts.
Weather:
Winter can be sub-zero in Madrid, with snowfall not uncommon whilst summers are quite hot with temperatures regularly going over 30°C. It can rain throughout the year, but generally rains more in autumn and spring. It may be best to plan your stag weekend for the summer months!
Currency and Transport:
Atocha Railway Station is Madrid’s first and most central station. It is also home to a 4000 square metre indoor garden! The station is now a tropical hot house with more than 500 species of plant life, ponds, gold fish and turtles- it is definitely one of the nicest train stations in the world! Madrid has an extensive public transport network, second only to London in the world! Taxis and car hire are also an option so your stag party in Madrid will have no problems getting around! The currency of Spain is the Euro.
