Overview:
Cambridge used to be a town which was well known for its history and of course, for its significantly unique culture. That being said, times certainly do change and nowadays, Cambridge is simply a great place to go on a stag weekend. The reality is that the city is becoming more and more commercialised, which makes it a great place to visit for all sorts of reasons, but especially for a quality stag do.
Getting Around:
Cambridge is not exactly the ideal city to be driving around. Like other major cities in the UK, the traffic here is fairly bad and the costs to park tend to be quite extortionate. Here is the thing though; as a student city and a popular tourist destination, the transport links are extremely good. What this means is that trains and buses run in and out of the city on a daily basis, which are probably the best ways to get around on a stag weekend anyway!
Must See/Must Do:
• Have a ride up and down River Cam
• Check out the gardens that are situated behind the college
• Check out Cambridge University thanks to a guided tour
• Look around to see what shows are on. Shakespeare tends to be outdoors in the summer
• Have a great night out in Club Fez
History and Culture:
Anyone that knows a little about history will know that Cambridge has some great historical routes. A lot of people assume the rivalry between Cambridge and Oxford Universities are present simply because they are both great. The reality is that in 1209, some of the Scholars fled after disagreements and decided to set up camp on their own. This is not something that everyone wants to listen to on their stag weekend, but it can be fascinating for those that are interested.
Nightlife:
Here is the thing that will be of interest to people on their Cambridge stag party; the nightlife here is second to none. As a top student city in the UK, there are some great watering holes, allowing people on their stag do to get started early in the day. As the afternoon turns into night, people on their stag do can leave the traditional pubs and head for the town on the look out for some of the popular big clubs. One of the biggest and best clubs here is certainly the Club Fez, which has plenty to offer everyone on their Cambridge stag party.
Eating and Drinking:
The Rainbow Café in Cambridge is extremely popular. Whilst there are a lot of meat eaters wanting their share, this café prides itself in producing the best vegetarian meals. It is definitely worth a look as some of their dishes rival some of the bistros top dishes. For people that do not want to break their bank in order to get their fill, they should probably look somewhere around Prospect Row. The likes of the Free Press is an extremely inexpensive place to grab some grub for people enjoying a budget stag party.
Sport:
There are plenty of different sports that occur here. The most prestigious events are the boat races between Oxford and Cambridge. Most people probably associate these two cities with the great rowing race which occurs regularly.
