Weather:
Bratislava is one of the warmest cities in Slovakia but it still has four seasons like the rest of Europe. Winters tend to be very cold with ice and snow and temperatures reaching on average -2oc. The summers are lovely and hot with average temperatures reaching around 27oc.
Currency:
In 2009 Slovakia replaced the Slovak Koruna with the Euro. If bringing cash with you, there are foreign exchange booths in banks and most hotels. Visa and MasterCards can also be used in supermarkets and some hotels and restaurants. There are ATMs dotted all over Bratislava although the exchange rate does change depending on where you go.
Transport:
Getting to Bratislava is relatively easy with direct flights taking around two hours. Flying into Vienna is also an option and then catching a train over to Bratislava. Once in the city, stag parties will find they can reach almost everywhere by foot. Bratislava does however have a good transportation system with buses, trams and trolley lines being among the types of transport. A three day travel pass for all forms of public transport can be bought for €8.
