Nightlife:
The nightlife in Barcelona is vibrant and diverse and will ensure a fantastic
stag night. Bars are usually open until around 3am in the city although some stay open until 5am when the metro starts running again. Restaurants vary all over the city but a good rule of thumb is to eat wherever is popular or wherever you see many local people. Most restaurants offer a menu of the day for around €10 per person which is a great way to have a full meal for a good price. Tapas are a popular choice in the city, although stag parties in Barcelona should definitely try some real Catalan food – and some of the Catalan waffles sold on the street stands! Climate:
Barcelona enjoys a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and mild winters – perfect for a stag weekend. The city does not usually have snow during the winter months and rain is also uncommon. Gentle sea breezes are more the city’s thing with the odd large thunderstorm through the summer months.
Currency:
The Euro replaced the Spanish Peseta in 2002. Banks in Barcelona are open from 8.30am-2pm and ATM’s accepting Visa and MasterCard are abundant. There may be a slight charge for using the machines although if you prefer to bring cash, money can be exchanged in most banks and some hotels.
Transport:
It is easy to reach Barcelona from the UK with flights taking around two hours. Once in the city you will be met with a fantastic transport system including buses, the metro, a tram network and cable cars. Barcelona also has a bicycle service with over 100 stations spread throughout the city.
