Sports loving stag parties could also take a trip to watch Ajax play or visit the indoor snowboarding centre.
Weather:
The climate in Amsterdam is very similar to the UK with a fairly cold winter with the canals freezing over to a moderately warm summer. Some summers continue on until almost October although every month is a great time for a stag weekend in this fabulous city.
Currency:
The Dutch Guilder was replaced by the Euro in 2002. ATMs are abundant in Amsterdam and all take Visa. Foreign exchange booths can be found in banks and some hotels. Eateries in the city cater for all types of budget. McDonald's will set you back around three Euros while a nice restaurant will cost the same as in London. Beer and spirits are about the same as London prices but it is your stag weekend so it is all worth it! Attractions in the city vary in price with some being free to enter and some, like the canal cruises, cost around 20 euros.
Transport
Amsterdam is very easy to reach from the UK with flights taking less than an hour. Once in the city most places are within walking distance but why not hire a bicycle and do as the Dutch do? The Dutch public transport is among the best in the world with trains and trams running on a regular basis throughout the city. Canals are also a fun if expensive way to get around.
