Overview:
Newquay is now one of the top surfing locations in the United Kingdom, thanks in large part to the great surf off Fistral beach - if surfing is your thing, you're not going to find a better spot for your stag party! Eight other beautiful beaches are also available, although Fistral is generally considered to offer the best surf. Days of terrific surfing followed by nights of fun at the many trendy bars, extravagant nightclubs and sizzling hotspots off the beach mean you'll never run out of entertainment -- whatever the flavour! The 22,000 or so regular residents can swell to over 100,000 during the summer with an amazing party atmosphere that your stag party will not soon forget!
Getting Around:
The town centre is designed for foot traffic only and you will probably enjoy the picturesque sights as your navigate around the town centre during your stag weekend in Newquay. For reaching other parts of town, taxis will probably be your best bet, since busses, etc. are rather rare. The Newquay taxi service, however, is very high quality and fairly-priced. Also, they'll happily deposit you anywhere you wish to go, rather than sticking to predetermined routes.
Must See / Must Do:
• Enjoy the famous Relentless surfing festival
• Take in a bonfire on the beach
• Head to a Sugar Lounge concert
• Cruise the nightlife at the Clifftop Walkabout Bar
• Surf up a great time at the Fistral beach
History:
Originally a fishing village, Newquay has become a premiere tourist destination for stag parties and many other occasions - only London itself can compete with the wide range of nightlife hotspots, from the smallest little pubs to the coolest nightclubs. This is due in large part to major growth in the number of students at Newquay's university. As a result, in addition to being a great destination for regular pleasure seekers and surfing junkies, Newquay is one of the best spots you can find to hold your stag weekend!
For a spooky prehistoric twist for your Newquay stag weekend, you may want to take some time away from the beach and the bars to visit some of the ancient burial mounds in the area.
Nightlife:
You are only limited by your time, your preference and your imagination when it comes to entertainment on your Newquay stag do. The town is host to some of the most unique hotspots you can imagine! You may like the memorable Clifftop Walkabout bar, boasting a balcony hanging precariously over the cliff edge with a drop of many stories below. The Sugar Lounge is another popular destination for Newquay stag parties, due to its bargain-priced entries and amazing variety of DJs. And speaking of bargains, you'll find plenty of them simply by barhopping in Newquay! Plenty of the local establishments offer some amazing deals on the street.
Food/Restaurants:
Naturally, you're bound to get hungry eventually on your Newquay stag do. Fortunately, Newquay offers a selection sure to please any palate. Many of the local restaurants serve much of their menu from locally grown food (or caught, in the case of the amazing chip shops). If fine dining is more to your preference, Newquay can provide that as well, with many elegant establishments surrounding the town centre. And, for a quick bite, the surfer complex on the beach will fit the bill perfectly. Whatever your preference - for food, for drink, or for entertainment -- Newquay is sure to cater to all your needs perfectly.
