Getting Around:
Brighton is a very easy town to get to with bus and rail links taking just under an hour to reach the town from London. A one day saver ticket costs £2.80 and can be used as many times as you wish. History And Culture:
Brighton began as a small fishing village but once King George IV visited, the town has grown steadily in size ever since. King George IV spent much of his leisure time in Brighton and before long the town was home to the Royal Pavilion. In 1841 the first railway line to the city was built, enabling tourists from London to visit the small seaside town. Brighton is now often referred to as “London by the sea”, and together with Hove forms the city of Brighton and Hove. Culture is a very important part of Brighton life and the town boasts a large art community. A number of films have been filmed in the city of recent years including the Da Vinci Code. The town is also host to a number of festivals throughout the year including the largest arts festival in the UK and the Brighton Festival Fringe.
