“Crunching the numbers to figure out what destinations are set to rule in 2017″
As the UK’s biggest stag and hen company, we send over 150,000 people away every year on exceptional weekends away. With the start of the year as prime booking season, we’ve been able to forecast the hottest locations for 2017. So let us share with you some of the facts…
Top Stag and Hen Destinations 2017
1) Budapest beats all to No.1 stag do destination!
What better place to spend an ultimate stag do than in Budapest. Arguably, one of the best all-round cities for a stag do. Not convinced? Well, let’s looks at some of the details. The Old Town, known as Pest has over 20 ruin pubs, all within walking distance of each other. You have the Szecheyni Baths, perfect for any group wanting to relax and have the therapeutic baths cleanse your tired body. Then there’s the number of activities on offer. We can’t fault the river boat cruise, the paintball, or the Indoor shooting range. Add into the mix the affordability and it is totally understandable why Budapest has been our No.1 stag do destination for 2 years in a row.
2) Prague continues to deliver
After Budapest comes Prague. It’s hardly a surprise to see this city so high up the list. The Czech capital is well known on the stag circuit offering groups fantastic beer and thumping nightlife. If you’re more into the cultural scene, you can begin by looking round Wenceslas square and wondering the streets of Stare Mesto (that’s the Old Town). It’s picture postcard pretty. However, for the most part, we’ll anticipate you spending your time hanging round some of the finest Czech pubs in the Old Town. For a night out you can either stick to the old town, or head to Vinohrady, where some of the most popular clubs and bars are located.
3) Benidorm blasts in at no. 3
We’re used to seeing the likes of Budapest or Prague doing well on our stag and hen do lists, but every now and again the data reveals something new and interesting. For 2017 we have seen a number of climbers based on enquiries and bookings but none more so than Benidorm. Racing into the 3rd place from out of the top 10 last year, Benidorm is our biggest riser. It won’t be winning points as the prettiest place out there, but it has a great attitude towards stag and hen groups, limitless happy hours and the beach is only a short walk away. All in all, a top stag do destination.
Has Brexit changed stag do behaviours?
Judging from our statistics, the UK is set to see an increase in stag weekends for 2017. Is this the Brexit affect? Possibly. Despite these forecasts, we are still expecting a highly competitive year. However, if you’re looking for a destination a little closer to home, here at the top 10 UK stag do destinations based on enquiries and bookings.
1) Newcastle top of the UK stag do leaderboard in 2017!
Knocking Bournemouth off its pedestal this year, Newcastle has become your no. 1 UK stag do destination for 2017. Maybe it’s something in the northern waters, or the fact Geordies are some of the friendliest and funniest people out there. We’re not too sure. Spend a night out on the Diamond Strip though and it’s easy to see why. The city is alive and buzzing with a real cosmopolitan vibe that you can’t help but get involved in. Well done Newcastle.
2) Bournemouth brings the energy to the south
Hot on Newcastle’s heels is Bournemouth. We’re not surprised to see last years winner doing so well. The activities on offer are some of the best in the country while the array of nightlife and pubs is great for any groups. With such a wide variety of places to go out, you’re not likely to bump into too many other stag or hen groups, so you can focus on having a smashing time with your boys.
3) Mad and mesmerizing, welcome to Cardiff
Cardiff is renown for knowing how to party – I mean just head on down to Westgate or St. Marys Street by the Millennium Stadium and you’ll see what we mean. All the best bars and clubs for a stag or hen do are within close proximity to one another so you won’t be trudging far between watering holes.
Top UK Hen Destinations of 2017
Going against the Brexit grain, hens are actually venturing further afield in 2017 with Marbella and Barcelona making the top 10. No hen destinations abroad made the top 10 list in 2016 so this is fantastic news! You can check the table higher up the page to see the full list of destinations.

Liverpool leaps up to no. 2 in top hen destinations 2017
Liverpool is more than the Beatles, Anfield football stadium and scouse brows. For hens, you can expect a terrific weekend. The compact city centre is buzzing with trendy bars, restaurants and nightlife.Plus it’s wonderfully affordable compared to many other cities.
Top European Hen Destinations of 2017
The UK is certainly a more popular destination for hens than stag groups, but that’s not to say they don’t enjoy heading out to Europe. “Say hello to the new kids on the block as these destinations are set to go off in 2017″
Greece and Croatia set to soar
With low-cost flights to Croatia and Greece, these two countries are set for a big year. Greece’s capital Athens has all the sunshine, the sea, the rooftop bars, and the culture (looking at you Acropolis and Parthenon), all in an affordable package. Flight times from London come in at around 3 hours 30 minutes, that although a little longer to get to than other destinations, we think is easily worth it for all the places you can go and see.
Meanwhile, Croatia’s capital Zagreb offers excellent value for money in a hugely underrated and compact city. Head over to Ivana Tkalcica Street. It’s central, has lots of good cafes to sit at and drink a beer and late at night the cafe called “History” turns into a great night spot.
But it’s not just these two gems that make the future destinations list. Other notable destinations to look out for include:
