Overview:
Snowboarding is undeniably cool. We'd love to offer it to you in the UK, but we're unlikely to see thick snow until the next Ice Age and, unfortunately for you, you'll be nothing more than frozen dust when that comes round.
Those that can't be bothered to wait for a mammoth on the horizon before they give the sport a go have an alternative in the guise of Mountain Boarding. Like a snowboard with wheels, it's something pretty darn different for those who have tried all the standard stuff in the past, and a big adrenaline rush to boot - strapped in and let loose on this exhilarating course you'll be eating dirt rather than snow when you wipe out.
This might just sound like an oversized skateboard for the horizontally challenged, but it's not. The wheels are bigger and on either side of the board at the front and the rear, giving you far greater control than you'd expect. This extreme sport has become so popular that the US snowboarding team now use it to train during the summer, so if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for you
Based on a ski slope layout, this sites has various runs specifically designed to test mountain boarders of all abilities so whether you're an experienced mountain boarder or a complete novice you'll have a blast. The dirt track features plenty of humps and bends so if you're a bit of a pro you can really get some speed up and pull off some spectacular moves.
Sissies can sit this one out, the rest should head straight for the top and risk a bit of skin like a real man.
Format:
When you arrive you will be outfitted with a board and all the safety gear - helmets, knee & elbow pads wrist guards etc - and run through the basic safety requirements. From there you'll start with instructors at the bottom of the slope and work your way up as you gain confidence.
