TORQUAY

OVERVIEW:
Take a trip to the heart of the English Riviera in Torquay, where you’ll find the famous seven hills that provide a spectacular backdrop to a regenerated waterfront! There are loads of pleasant little beaches and bays that provide the perfect setting for watersports and beers with your buddies – all part of the ingredients to make for an epic stag weekend in Torquay! A busy city centre plays host to loads of exciting events and festivals throughout the year, with great nightlife to match! A Torquay stag weekend is sure to be one that’s full of adventure, but with fantastic opportunities to relax and enjoy the scenery!

GETTING AROUND:
The city centre is well-served by public transport, all with reasonable fares for most journeys – However, if buses aren’t your thing, then there’s a fleet of taxis and minicabs to ferry you to and fro – plus, if you split the fare, it all works out quite cheap!

MUST SEE/DO:
• Relax on one of Torquay’s 19 award-winning beaches with fantastic water quality!
• Try your hand at diving, in the shallow waters off the coast!
• Take a bike ride along the coastline, or venture into the Devon countryside!
• Sample the delights of the local bars and pubs in a friendly, vibrant atmosphere!

HISTORY:
Torquay is historically a port town, and where there are sailors, there’s usually a good social scene! There are numerous bars and clubs in the city centre, along with hidden gems if you want to venture further afield for a unique experience. The waterfront has just received a massive boost in the form of a rejuvenation project – many new businesses have been attracted to the area, meaning there’s a lot more to do now than ever before!

NIGHTLIFE:
Torquay’s nightlife scene is a vibrant one, with many different styles of bars and pubs – the Harbourside is a real hot-spot for Torquay’s finest, boasting traditional pubs, modern bars, Irish pubs and more! If you’re up for a bit of a rave, then there are lots of clubs ready to satify your urges in that department, like Valbonnes, Route 66 and Smooth. These clubs all stay open well into the small hours, and have a busy yet fun feel to them. Live DJ sets are guaranteed to keep the vibe going, and make for a memorable stag weekend with your pals!

FOOD/RESTAURANTS:
The city is packed with loads of different options for a meal, with lots of seafood restaurants using fresh locally-sourced produce in some very imaginative dishes. For a more varied selection, you can try the pubs in the town centre, who serve a great mix of traditional and more modern food in a vibrant atmosphere. A highly recommended place to try is over at The Orange Tree on Parkhill road – the staff are friendly and efficient, the service is fantastic, and the menu is extensive! Everything you need for a slap-up meal to keep your energy levels up for the rest of your stag weekend in Torquay!

The session will involve using several different types of trap (this affects the path, speed and direction of way the clay flies to simulate the movement of different types of animal; from a duck dropping onto a pond, to a bounding rabbits and cross flying pigeons).
