Glasgow Multi Activity Day

Overview:
Enjoy a day of brilliant outdoor activities in the stunning Scottish countryside. Based on a traditional farm, the site is surrounded by rolling hills, mature woodland, scenic rivers and an abundance of wildlife. The best bit is that is only 30 minutes from Glasgow and also features a Country Café to take care of your appetite. Choose any 2 of the following for a top day on the land.

Quad Bikes
After an instruction and safety briefing, individuals will be given the chance to test their skills and courage on a purpose built 1 mile off-road track. The track has been designed to suit all abilities and features cambers, inclines, water obstacles and extreme gradients where precision riding is more important than speed. All the 150cc bikes are automatic and easily controlled providing a safe but thrilling challenge. Up to 4 people will ride on the track at any one time and participate in a timed competition. Riders will be on the bikes for approximately 30 minutes each.

4x4 Off Road Driving
Learn how to drive a 4x4 vehicle under the supervision of a qualified instructor on a challenging purpose built course. Experience the thrill of driving over steep inclines, angled traverses, mud pits and terrifying descents. Each 4x4 seats up to 7 passengers and drivers will receive approximately 15 minutes behind the wheel in an obstacle course competition.

Clay Pigeon Shooting
Why not try a shot or two? The traps will be set to suit your party's individual needs and can be made as easy or as difficult as you wish; choose from shooting clays that are coming towards you, flying away from you or crossing in front of you. A qualified instructor will show groups how to fire the double barrelled shotgun before they attempt to blast a few clays out of the sky in a scored competition. Each person will shoot one at a time and get approximately 15 minutes shooting time.

Includes 25 clays per person.

.22 Rifle Shooting
Under the supervision of the qualified instructor you will be able to experience the challenge of .22 rifle shooting, using a semi-automatic rifle fitted with a telescopic sight. Each person will compete on the 30m outdoor target range by firing from both prone and standing positions. Each person gets 25 shots.

Assault Course
On the military standard assault course, groups will be able to put themselves through a series of tough obstacles that will challenge all levels of fitness. This is a team activity that promotes team bonding and leadership qualities due to the fact that the team can only proceed at the speed of the slowest team member, regardless of fitness. You will be guided through the course with a demonstration from a qualified military instructor before starting a timed competition. Teams of 4 will compete on the assault course at any one time.

4x4 Blindfold Driving
The team take it in turns to drive around a course while wearing a blindfold! With the driver blindfolded, the rest of the team must shout directions and instructions to make sure the obstacle course is navigated successfully. A good laugh for everyone! The 4x4 seats up to 7 and each driver will be behind the wheel for approximately 15 minutes.

However, we wouldn't recommend this as a one off event; you'll want to combine it on a multiactivity day to offer a variety of challenges and to minimise waiting around time.

Fishing
The fully stocked trout pond offers you a chance to catch yourself a rainbow trout. All equipment is provided and instruction is available for those who require it. Each person can keep and kill up to 2 fish but are able to catch as many fish as they like; groups can even throw their catch on the BBQ and have it for lunch! Groups can also choose to hold the fishing as a scored competition. The stag is also in for it as there will be a bottle of champagne with a balloon tied to it in the fishing pond that he will be expected to retrieve! Groups will spend approximately 30 minutes fishing at the pond.

Archery
Instruction from a qualified instructor will enable you to gain the most of this ancient and amazingly fun sport. Competitive yet relaxing, this sport can be enjoyed regardless of the Ayrshire weather as there are facilities available for both undercover and outdoor archery. One competitor at a time will grab the longbow and attempt to gain the highest score in a timed competition.

Catering:
There's no need to go hungry as the activity centre offers on-site facilities ranging from an alfresco BBQ to traditional home cooked food in a Country Cafe.

Duration:
- Each activity lasts for approximately 1 hour, unless noted otherwise.

Notes:
- Prizes (and booby prizes!) will be handed out to groups.
