Bournemouth hen parties

Bournemouth, once saddled with the reputation of a blue-rinse paradise, is in the process of reinventing itself as a kind of south coast Ibiza. With a host of belting nightclubs and a multitude of cool and trendy bars to go to beforehand, they are all within easy walking distance of each other. Bournemouth's nightlife is top drawer. Bournemouth also boasts some of the best activity centres in the country nearby and, with the beach to recover on come Sunday, Bournemouth is a superb option for hen parties.

Beautiful beaches and everything in one town. No complaints at all. We walked from the travel lodge everywhere except the saturday activities. A good variety of bars and clubs that cater for most tastes, ended up in Smokin aces on Saturday night before the casino and both were good places where I felt safe.

Overview
For a never-to-be forgotten hen weekend, try the sizzling beaches and cosmopolitan nightlife of Bournemouth. With miles of shoreline, water sports abound in Bournemouth. But the adrenaline-charged fun mixes effortlessly with fine dining, theatre and other leisurely activities in this spa-village.

Getting Around:
Don’t be afraid to use your feet. Bournemouth has seven miles of beautiful beachfront and is small enough to walk around. For destinations further afield, Bournemouth has a city bus system to get your hen party to the next hot spot.

Must See/Must Do:
• The Bournemouth Eye – A tethered balloon that operates seasonally from the Lower Gardens in central Bournemouth and rises to a height of 500 feet. The exceptional views over the English Channel, surrounding countryside and coast will add a wow factor to any Hen Party in Bournemouth.
• Surf lessons – Imagine the fun when the entire hen party takes a surf lesson at one of Bournemouth’s piers.
• Kayaking – Available for rent or by tour in Bournemouth. Take a trip to the nearby Arne Nature Reserve where spotting rare birds, marine life and maybe a seal are sure to be a hen party highlight.
• West Beach Restaurant – Beachfront dining at its best.
• Oceanarium – The Bournemouth Aquarium is a glorious way to spend an afternoon with friends. See and learn about marine species from around the world.
• Highcliffe Castle – A wonderful example of Romantic and Picturesque-style architecture from the late 18th century. Take in the castle’s Gothic features and ancient stained glass on a hen party sightseeing trip.

History and Culture:
This spa village has deep roots. Beginning around 1812, with construction of the first villas, Bournemouth began to build its reputation for fine spas. Bournemouth has experienced several boons in popularity and continues to be a favored retreat for everyone from famous writers to your next door neighbor. A number of authors including Thomas Hardy, Roald Dahl, Robert Louis Stevenson, Oscar Wilde and Mary Shelley have left their mark on the village.

Shopping:
Bournemouths streets and town centre are popping with boutiques, coffee shops and cafes. Always pedestrian friendly, Bournemouth’s shopping areas are a great way to spend the day and maybe find a little something to take home to remember your Hen Weekend in Bournemouth.

Nightlife:
Bournemouth is known far and wide for its nightlife and is reputed to be one of the best nights out in all of Britain. The club scene in Bournemouth is vibrant and packed into the Town Centre which makes it easy to explore the many opportunities on a hen night. The downtown Triangle area is another must with its thriving gay community, nightclubs and cabarets. This area is popular enough to have a late-night bus service on weekends.

Eating and Drinking:
The town centre of Bournemouth has a number of fine restaurants suitable for any hen party. Charminster and Boscombe are also dining destinations for those wanting to travel out of the city center. But why leave when Bournemouth’s brightest gem is the West Beach Restaurant? Located near the Bournemouth Pier enjoy oysters and other succulent seafood in a waterfront setting.
