History and Culture:
This spa village has deep roots. Beginning around 1812, with construction of the first villas, Bournemouth began to build its reputation for fine spas. Bournemouth has experienced several boons in popularity and continues to be a favored retreat for everyone from famous writers to your next door neighbor. A number of authors including Thomas Hardy, Roald Dahl, Robert Louis Stevenson, Oscar Wilde and Mary Shelley have left their mark on the village.
