In 1545, the Mary Rose sank in Portsmouth Harbour while Henry VIII watched. In 1787, the infamous Bounty sailed from Portsmouth under the guidance of Captain Bligh. In 1805, Nelson set sail from Portsmouth to his death at Trafalgar.
