Overview:
If you’re looking for an activity to make the weekend memorable, or something to bring together a group of girls who don’t all know each other , then cocktail making, or mixology as it’s called, is the perfect solution.

Experienced, professional and friendly mixologists will take you step by step through the history of cocktails and then show you how to make three of the classics, before handing you the bottles and letting your imagination and creativity run wild.

As you experiment under expert guidance as to what works and what doesn’t, you’ll start to appreciate a whole new art form and most excitingly develop skills which you can then hone with friends and family in the years to come.

Format:
Each group will have one or more cocktail ambassadors who will brief you on the day's activities before giving a short introductory talk on the history of the cocktail and the origin of the word. Each member of your group will then be given a bar tool which they will have to try to identify before putting the tools in the correct order of use when making a cocktail.

The ambassador will then make an introduction shot for the group where he/she will explain what all of the bar tools are used for. If you don't know the difference between a Hawthorn strainer and a Boston shaker, you'll find out.

Everyone then makes lemonade using real lemons, gomme and soda water, and you'll learn about how to perfectly balance sweet and sour. You'll use your lemonade to make a Raspberry Vodka Collins and a Passion Fruit Krushka.

You'll then be talked through the history of, and taught how to make a Mojito/Bison Grass Mojito, a Pear Caipirowska, a Cosmopolitan and a White Russian/Bride. Then it'll be your turn to show off your cocktail skills by going head to head with another member of your group in a shake off where you'll each make one of the cocktails.

The event will end with a mini quiz with two free cocktail vouchers each on offer for the winning team. To soak up some of the alcohol, your group will also have a couple of food platters to nibble at, with a wide variety of food.

There's more to cocktail making than just pouring a few spirits in a glass and giving it a bit of a shake - enter the world of Mixology.

Mixology is an art: get it right and you can create delicious drinks which will be an explosion of pleasure on your tongue, but get it wrong and you'll be pulling pained faces and reaching for the mouthwash!

After a welcome drink each group will have one or more cocktail ambassadors who will brief you on the day's activities before giving a short introductory talk on the history of the cocktail - where the word originates - and the tools and bar skills behind some of the world's most famous drinks. If you don't know the difference between a Hawthorn strainer and a Boston shaker, you'll find out.

The ambassador will then make an introduction shot for the group where he/she will explain what all of the bar tools are used for.

Your host will then demo a range of cocktails displaying all of the main cocktails styles and everyone will get behind the bar to create them themsleves including martinis, shaken drinks, layered drinks, mojitos and milky cocktails.

Guests will then be able to choose to make another cocktail of their choice either straight up or as a game/race/team competition or simply to relax and enjoy afterwards.

Finally, guests can leave with a bang as they enjoy a 'vodka train' cocktail domino rally as a farewell drink. All guests will also receive a Cocktail Master Cetificate plus the group leader will receive a keepsake complete with photos.

Get it right and you can create delicious concoctions which dance on your tongue and slide down your throat like liquid magic; get it wrong and you'll be pulling faces like a bartender chewing barbed wire.

Experienced mixologists will give you an introduction to the history of cocktails (after a champagne reception, of course) and will make 3 of the world's most popular drinks for you to sample from. They'll pass on top tips from their wealth of knowledge before letting you loose on the juice.

You'll design and mix your own cocktails in an afternoon of booze-fuelled fun and leave with skills that'll have all your friends licking their lips and pushing you towards the drinks cabinet.

MOJITO - A Cuban classic mix of Bacardi Oro, lime, sugar and mint topped with soda water. Try it with any fruit purée of your choice

BRAMBLE - A wonderfully decadent mix of Bombay Sapphire, lemon juice and sugar served on ice and topped with a blackberry liqueur
