The Site:
Spread over 200 acres, this dedicated activity centre is based in the enchanting Cheshire countryside, only a short drive from Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. Facilities include meeting room for 30 people, a fully licensed bar and the activities, which are all ideally suited to the wooded backdrop, are superb. Enjoy the best of both worlds with a multi-activity day of Quad Racing and Clay Pigeon Shooting.
Clay Pigeon Shooting:
Forget horse racing, this is the real sport of kings. With a fully qualified instructor, you will rotate through a variety of traps (so named because originally they contained real pigeons). You will take part in a 20 clay taster session. The instructors are well-versed at dealing with novices and will quickly have you blasting the clays to smithereens on the traps.
Quad Racing
These 125cc Yamaha Breeze quad bikes are like a four-wheeled motorbike that can be thrashed about off-road. The semi-automatic gearbox (just forward, reverse and neutral) means they are easy to drive, leaving you to concentrate on clipping valuable seconds off your time by getting the most out of the machine. The centre has a specially designed winding dirt track set into the hillside which is perfect for the time trial format. At over 500 metres long, there is plenty of room to manoeuvre, even with up to five quad bikes on the track at one time. Every driver will have a safety briefing and short practice to get used to the machine, followed by a 15 minute race. You’ll be knackered after this, particularly your thighs and thumbs, so you will get a short break before your second race.
**Please note the Quad Race track often becomes unsafe in the summer due to the hardness of the ground. If this occurs a Quad Trekking event will be substituted in for it. Decisions on track condition are normally only made a few days prior to the event.
