Krakow is a beautiful Polish city with a great old town which isn’t too tourist packed during the day but which is packed with bars and partiers at night.
Krakow though only a little smaller than Manchester feels like a student town, this means lots of young people partying hard every night of the week plus drinks that are cheap even by Polish standards, around £1 a beer but you will find cheaper, you will see some other stag and hen parties here but not too many so if you don’t want to be surrounded by them a hen weekend in Krakow is a great option.
Getting there and accommodation:
Easyjet fly to Krakow so you can get there without spending too much, once there station yourselves in the Old Town this is where there is the most to do both during the day and at night.
Food and Drink:
Polish Vodka is some of the best, Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka is particularly good and the main ingredient of a Frisky Bison. Vodka is of course a vital ingredient for many cocktails though and Krakow isn’t without its cocktail bars like any modern city, Vodka Miodawa is a honey flavoured vodka you can get in shots and goes down very nicely. Beers are maybe the best value though and brands such as Lech and Zywiec are among the most widely available.
Things to do during the day:
Summer in Krakow is the time to have a hen weekend in Krakow, winters can be harsh, get out in the sun and try a walking tour of the city, this will mainly be the old town which is where its most beautiful buildings are and many of its museums including art museums and history museums.
The Wawel castle is worth a look inside as well as outside, it’s hard to miss. The Planty is a park going around the old town where the wall used to be, it means its kind of like a ring road, stay within it and you shouldn’t get too lost.
Many activities are available in and around Krakow from Paintablling to go-karting or quad biking even have a go on a shooting range.
Things to do at night:
At night the students, the locals and tourists from across Europe come out to party and don’t stop until the sun comes up. The old town is where most of Krakow’s bars and clubs can be found so get your hen party along there and take a look around, explore down some alleys and in a few courtyards to find some of the best places, some clubs seem to go on for ever built across a number of floors in various joined medieval and renaissance buildings, will you find your ways out again? Try going between a few basement bars to find the best prices and hottest guys Piec Art is a popular student filled bar which is worth a look in and often has a bit of live jazz on the go. For more upmarket try Shakers club or the Boogie bar both a bit more pricey but it’s a hen night so you shouldn’t be buying the drinks anyway, if the guys in here can afford the prices they can afford to buy a few lovely ladies a drink.
Now on to the clubs often above bars and shops there entrances may not be obvious at first. Krakow seems to love techno and house music and Frantic is one of these types of clubs if this is what your Krakow Hen Party want. Goracka though plays some great cheese if you are in more of a silly mood.
