Overview:
Hydrospeeding is the new kid on extreme watersports the block. Created by daredevil Andre Payraud, it makes white water rafting look about as extreme as an afternoon at your grandparents' house. A hydrospeed is a large float and it'll be all you'll have to cling onto as you plummet down the rapids of the River Giffre at the base of Mont Blanc.
Hydrospeeds looks like a cross between a bodyboard and the floats you used when you learnt to swim. All you have to do is jump on top, hold on tight and steer your way down the challenging white water.
You'll be kitted out in a wetsuit, flippers and helmet so you'll have plenty of protection from the icy water and boulders that line the river. Your guide will give you a full safety briefing so if you and your hydrospeed do become separated you'll know what to do- cling onto something and start screaming for help is usually the advice.
You'll spend around one and a half hours in the water, so plenty of time for you to take in the incredible scenery, or hold on for dear life as you're propelled down the river at breakneck speeds!
