Overview:
"Red... Yellow... Green, Go!" Kit Car is an exciting team building day that culminates to the final race, where teams compete for the title ‘wackiest racers of the office'. However, before teams reach the chequered flag, they'll need to get out of the pit stop. Each teams' performance won't just be down to their driver's driving abilities; everyone will need to put their thinking helmets on and come up the ultimate human-powered kart.
Format:
Working in teams you must design, build and brand a human-powered kart. Teams will race around a wacky obstacle course while carrying a bucket of water. Excellent team work is crucial in order to complete all tasks and make it to the races on time. Teams will need to raise funds through sponsorship and make their kart look impressive (extra points will be awarded for kart design). The event finishes with a presentation where prizes are awarded to the winning teams.
Activities:
Complete the following tasks before the races begin:
Design it
Even though you won't be travelling at the speed of a formula one car, you'll need to ensure your kart is designed to make it round the track as quickly as possible.
Build it
Teams will need to buy materials and then it's all hands on deck as teams construct their kart.
Brand it
Think about the best possible way to get your sponsor's message across. Brand everything! Your kart, clothing, team mates, umbrellas, signs etc.
Race it
Race your kart round a wacky course while holding a bucket of water. Teams will be penalised for spillages.
