A trip to this indoor Learning Zone provides a true teambuilding day, encouraging bonding, problem solving and communication in a hugely fun environment so that guests feel tremendously rewarded and motivated.
Overview
The Learning Zone is a custom-built indoor team training resource, and the perfect place for a team challenge competition anyone can take part in.
Developed as a catalyst to creative thought and action, The Learning Zone features up to ten ‘life-size’ puzzles and problems, designed to guarantee that all participants think and have fun simultaneously.
Solving problems and meeting challenges is, of course, what good teamwork is all about. The puzzles will push any team’s collective efforts to the limit, although neither physical strength nor fitness is the key to success.
Communication, observation, imagination, trust, encouragement, decision / innovation and sense of humour (!) will all be tested in a variety of problem solving challenges conducted in competition against other teams and against the clock.
Teams will discover their strengths and limitations when working under pressure – and they’ll be able to both learn from it and laugh about it.
Although individual abilities from balance to memory are handy, challenges like Bomb Disposal, Electric Fence, Blind Fold Maze and Chinese Teaser, simply can’t be overcome without teamwork.
Teams get a box containing their challenge objectives and tools, but they can only solve their task by thinking outside the box!
Challenge areas are cunningly screened so no team can see what the other is doing, nor get a head start on the challenges to come.
The Learning Zone is located in an Indoor Activity Area, part of a carefully modernised 19th century barn conversion. The ‘problems’ are set in a spacious self-contained area that can accommodate large numbers.
Infra-red heating and lighting making it suitable for all seasons And the multi-media meeting room right next door, with full catering facilities, completes a purpose-built training set up and is the perfect place to feedback, reflect and unwind.
Example Challenges
The Grid: The team must select a leader - the leader will provide a six figure grid ref to each team member. In turn each team member must travel to that grid location and wait for further instruction. The leader must then observe the shape of a human letter on the grid the team has formed. We repeat the process until the team has noted all of the letters of a code. The codes will form passwords, the more codes that you crack the more chance you have of survival.
Saboteur: Your group will view a structure of boxes and then replicate that structure exactly as you viewed it by transporting the blocks to another screened off area.
Electric Fence: The team must retrieve the bucket full of radioactive waste from the opposite side of the fence without touching the fence or electrocuting the team members. Once the bucket has been retrieved the key in the bucket must be extracted and used to remove the padlock from the ammunition box - the box contains further instruction.
Blindfold Maze: A maze has been created using the upright supports and bungee cord. The team must select a leader to guide the team members through the maze and into the centre where they will be safe from terminator robots that are roaming around the maze in the dead ends.
10 Second Timer: To design and create a freestanding structure that will allow a ball to continuously run through the structure without the ball stopping. The ball needs to run for 10 seconds exactly.
High Rise: To create a structure only using the materials supplied - to suspend the entire group at least 6 inches above the ground for a period of 10 seconds.
