Overview:
If your brain power is superior to your muscle power, orienteering is an activity that will definitely give you a chance to get one over on your mates. Orienteering involves charging cross country between predetermined locations armed only with a map and compass for guidance.
If you were in the Scouts during your youth you'll be at a huge advantage as success in the event is dependant on being able to figure out the fastest route possible, so ability to read a map is key. Your group will be split into teams and will compete against each other to be first to finish the course.
Communication and teamwork are essential and it's always the team with the shrewdest minds that triumphs. There's no point in bombing it straight to the finish line either because there'll be questions to answer or challenges to complete at each check point.
We highly recommend spicing up the competitive element by having a bit of a wager on who's past the winning post, with the last team home shouting the rest of the group a huge round of beers.
