These events provide great opportunities for teams to experience new challenges in a positive, fun & productive environment.
Whether you want to take part in some problem-solving challenges as a stand-alone event or whether you are looking to incorporate some of the challenges with a search & rescue, orienteering or development programme;
Team building and Human Resource Development are based on two fundamental beliefs:
• That people learn more when they are highly motivated and enjoying themselves. This means striking a balance between fun and theory, ensuring that neither wins at the cost of the other.
• That the strengths and development needs of people are best observed when a level playing field is created, by taking people from their normal work environment and facing them with challenges which none have experienced.
The idea of the package is to combine fun, interesting games and activities in such a way as to foster better working relationships, problem solving skills and communication.
Team building activities:
Artesian: The teams are faced with a restricted area that contains a virus. The aim is to manoeuvre the virus into a safe area. This is a multi task challenge, it requires forward thinking and planning and it enhances co-operation and communication between team members.
Zin Obelisk: This task is completed indoors and is a complex mind puzzle. The team will need to communicate various pieces of information to each other, discarding any spurious clues. The task requires communication, time management and teamwork.
Seven Bar Gate: With the threat of a raging bull behind them, teams are required to manoeuvre themselves over a giant gate; however, they are not allowed to touch the gate at any time. This task requires careful resource management, planning and effective communication.
Dubani Planks: In the centre of a restricted area are four coloured balls. The team must relocate each ball on its respective coloured stand, using only four planks. This task will require the team to use logical thinking, strong communication and forward thinking.
Tsunami: With a Tsunami Tidal Wave approaching from the North. The team must construct a safe platform high enough from the ground, to save them from the floods. This task will require planning, implementation and review.
Flag Pole: The team will be required to raise the flagpole to a vertical position and then hoist the flag. This multi task challenge concentrates on teamwork, planning and resource management.
Rolla Coaster: Teams are required to construct a Rolla Coaster track through a series of giant hoops. The track will need to freely transport an object within a set period of time. This task requires teamwork, forward thinking and planning.
Blind Minefield: This task tests the effective use of communication and trust amongst the team members. The team need to work together to create a language using musical instruments, so the skill of listening is vital. This language is then used to guide the team through the Minefield.
Stepping Stones: Faced with a ‘piranha infested' lake, the teams need to cross it using a series of stepping-stones. Forward thinking and planning are key elements in completing this task successfully.
Druids Maze: The teams are faced with a giant bungee maze, which has been placed over quicksand. The only way they can get across is by using a series of coloured boards. As a complex puzzle, this task requires the team to plan, implement and review continually.
The Virus: This task requires the team to move a virus into a contamination chamber. It requires planning and structured implementation, using human and physical resources. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.
Spiders Web: Hidden in the trees is a giant web. The whole team has to pass through without alerting the spider. This task involves teamwork and planning and promotes the need for trust and reliance.
Eggs in Space: Using the equipment provided, the teams have to construct a launcher and fire a missile across a gorge. The teams need focus and vision to perform the task successfully. This task incorporates an element of fun and competition into the event.
Invisible Maze: The teams are required to send one member through the maze - however, there is only one correct path - can the other members remember the way in and back out again. A team focused task, that requires co-operation and communication.
Finale- Grenade Launcher:
Using equipment won from completing the earlier team games, the teams need to race against each other to construct a catapult strong enough to fire an egg across a gorge.
