Overview
Based on the global, smash-hit television series The Dragons Den, The Dragons Lair is a team building exercise that packs both fun and challenging exercises into a single day of activity. Participants are split into teams and encouraged to conceptualise, research and create a brand new product idea that can be brought to market. After this painstaking and time sensitive effort, these ideas must be presented in the mighty Dragons Lair before an assorted collection of industry experts!

Format
The format for the day is fairly straightforward, as participants forge teams and set about creating their conceptual idea. The processes and challenges involved build towards a dramatic climax in the Dragons Lair environment, where their idea will be presented and appraised in a forthright and often brutal manner. Here are the key elements involved: -

• Planning and Research: The key to developing a viable product idea is good quality research, as this helps you to appraise the market, demand and unique selling points of your concept. This requires teamwork and leadership, as each team member must fulfil a clearly defined role and works towards a collaborative goal.

• The Presentation: Before your team enters the oppressive Dragons Lair, you must bring your research and information together in a slick presentation. No stone must be left unturned as you develop your written presentation, both in terms of your own preparation and the inquisitiveness of your expectant dragons! 

• The Delivery: As anyone who has ever watched the Dragons Den will testify, the process of pitching to potential investors can turn established businessmen into quivering wrecks! The Dragons Lair is a similarly intimidating environment, where business ideas are placed under the most intense scrutiny. Be sure to select your most slick and confident presenter for the challenge, as otherwise even the most innovative ideas can be trampled beneath your feet!

Not only this, but it will also enable them to recreate a once in a lifetime television experience that will stand the test of time.

Overview
Do you think your team has the entrepreneurial know-how to squeeze some all important backing finance out of the fierce and foreboding dragons?! Based on the highly successful BBC show ‘Dragons’ Den’, this topical event is a brilliant way to test team work in a fun and unique environment.  The 'Den Of Dragons' event has been specifically designed to test and bring out all the core business attributes in your group, including delegation, commercial awareness, presentation skills and above all, team work!

Throughout the day, your team will have to put heads together to come up with a flawless and brilliant new idea which will have the Dragons jumping at the chance to invest their money in! The team will have to work shrewdly in order to keep to time scale and budget and allocate roles of design, sales and finance wisely in the team in order to come up with a winning product. All the team will require to present the idea will be available to purchase from the ‘business superstore’; the money for which is earned based on the team’s performance throughout the day. Do be warned however that the superstore is manned by the toughest traders you’ll ever meet, so the team will have to use their sharpest negotiating skills in order to cut a bargain here!

Format
The Idea
The product is the basis of the team’s success, so the team must really work together to create something brilliant! The host’s briefing should start brains ticking but from then on, it’s up to the team. Be careful not to drag their feet too much in the planning stage though or the team may find themselves with nothing to present at the end!

The Dragon’s Counsel
Intimidating as the Dragon’s are, the team must remember that they’re also excellent business tycoons - a quality the team should make the most of! Therefore throughout the day, 1-2 of the team members at a time will be given the chance to meet with and discuss ideas with each of the Dragons. The team will also have the chance to earn money with which to buy materials with at the ‘business superstore’, based on the poignancy of questions and ideas so far.

The Business Superstore
To really impress the Dragons, the team is going to need a show stopping presentation. In order to pull this off, the team will need to earn as much money throughout the day as possible in order to buy the essential props and materials required to really show off your fantastic new product.

The Pitch
This is the team’s chance to shine! To be crowned victorious the presentation must include watertight budget plans, a well researched design and that all important ground breaking idea that’s going to blow the Dragons away. Think your team has got what it takes?!
