Overview:
Based around the popular 90s game show ‘The Crystal Maze', this is the ultimate team building experience requiring teams to strategically work together in various zones to earn crystals. Can your team make it into the Crystal Dome?
The Crystal Challenge is one of our mobile events, available at suitable venues all over the UK. There is a minimum spend of £2100 + VAT, which excludes catering and venue costs.
Format:
The event is run by an experienced host, who'll don the traditional leopard skin coat and coordinate the activities. Throughout the day, teams rotate round three different zones; Mental, Skill and Physical Zones (just like the real show!). Riddles, anagrams and cryptic clues will guide teams to their next zone and another exciting challenge. If teams complete tasks "before the sands of time runs out" they will receive a crystal. Teams will eventually be brought together to see who has won the most crystals and therefore enters the Crystal Dome!
Activities:
Choose from the following activities to create the ultimate Crystal Challenge event:
Physical Zone:
Arachnophobia
Get the team through the spider's web without waking the spider.
Treasure Island
Cross shark infested waters using wooden planks, unlock the treasure chest and collect the crystal before the time runs out.
Cranium
Build a freestanding device, no higher than 3ft tall which is capable of lifting a bucket of water.
Amazon Obstacle (access to water is needed)
Build a vessel to convoy your team across a treacherous stretch of water and collect the crystal waiting on the other side.
Battering Ram
Build and use a battering ram to break open the boxes and find the key that will unlock the crystal.
Mental Zone:
Save The World
Save the world from nuclear obliteration by diffusing an atomic bomb. Talk to each other via walkie talkies and crack the code.
Pharaoh's Towers
A real brain-teaser, solve the puzzle before the time runs out.
Ship Maths
The ship's captain knows where the crystal is, but he's lost. Help the captain regain his bearings by solving mathematical puzzles.
Chemical Catastrophe
There's been a chemical spillage, teams need to act quickly!
Dead Man
There's been a murder and the detective needs your help! Solve cryptic clues to lead him to the murderer.
Skill Zone:
Flock 'Em In
Most of the team will be 'blindfolded' lost sheep. Others will need to direct them into a pen using noises only! Baaaaa-rilliant fun.
Eggspertly Done
Design and build an egg launcher capable of tossing an egg out of sight without touching it. A broken egg means no crystal!
Knock Their Blocks Off!
Build a chariot using the materials provided and pull a team mate round a course. Knock down all soldiers to receive the crystal.
Phileas Fogg's Adventure
Transport a balloon carrying Phileas Fogg and Passepartout around the world without touching it.
Hoop Throwing
The crystal is locked in amongst bamboo tubes and hooks. To release it, land hoops onto the correct hooks.
Catapult Targets
Fire a catapult at a variety of targets which all need to be knocked down for you to win the crystal.
Laser Beams (must be set up indoors)
The crystal is protected by a high security lasers. Retrieve the crystal without breaking any of the beams and alerting the guards.
Finale:
Toooo the Crystal Dome!
The winning teams will do battle in the finale event, taking it in turns to enter the Crystal Dome and collect as many gold tickets as possible. The amount of time each team has in the dome is relative to the amount of the crystals they have collected during the day.
