Overview
This superb outdoor centre is the ideal place to try your hand at karting. The circuit is exhilaratingly quick and can be used in wet or dry weather. The computerized system incorporated into the karts will provide lap times, average speeds and other race data.

The Karts
Are 240cc single engine Biz karts, which reach up to 50mph on the straight.

The Track
Is 470m long and features a long downhill straight and an s-bend section. It is also floodlit to allow evening races

Format

Endurance
The group will be divided into teams. After a practice for each driver, a non-stop (except for changeovers) race will begin with the winning team being those who complete the most laps in the allotted time. Your team’s progress can be followed from the sidelines with the computerized lap timer.

The Race Format
After a 4-lap practise session to get used to the kart and track, every driver races 5 times. Each race consists of 5 karts over a 3-laps, meaning each driver starts in every place on the grid including once from pole. The top 12 contenders then compete to race in the final, in two 4-lap races of 6 karts, with the top three in each race qualifying for the final. The final is longer still at 5 laps with the 3 podium finishers each receiving trophies.

This excellent pro track is one of the longest we know of at some 650 metres. The special tarmac surface provides for ‘Real-Grip’ ensuring speed without compromising safety. Emphasis is on skill through corners, with the 7.5 metre width providing plenty of opportunity for overtaking.

These Honda karts are the impressive 270cc single engine versions incorporating the latest liquid gas fuel technology. Capable of sustained speeds of 50mph down the straight, the three point steering means cornering is challenging and fun.

The Race Format
The endurance race format is a team event (2-4 to a team). All teams are on the track at the same time so overtaking, pit stops and driver strategy play a huge part in determining the eventual winner. Each competitor participates in a 15 minute timed practice in their team kart to get used to the kart and circuit. Grid positions are determined by the qualifying times from the practice. The karts will have 1 formation lap and then the Green Flag drops and the race is on.
The computerised lap scoring system keeps everyone up to date on the leaders and laggards. Trophies are awarded for every member of the 3 top teams. The driver achieving the fastest lap time receives a plaque.

Grand Prix
Between 12 and 40 drivers can take part in this event. Once booked, you will be required to sign on at the agreed time & after the drivers briefing you'll get underway with a 5 minute practice session. Six 8-lap heats will follow for each driver with the top 6 drivers progressing to a 10-lap final. With six karts in each heat, each driver will get a chance to start from every position in the grid so no one gains an unfair advantage. A presentation in the fully licensed bar will follow with trophies for the top three drivers.

The Track
This superb venue provides a 550 metre track demanding enough to test all drivers yet still offering plenty of overtaking opportunities. The tarmac is 6.5m wide at all points with 3m grass runoffs on both sides and incorporates eight bends, three of which are taken at high speed. A special type of blacktop, which does not soften in the heat of summer, has been used in order to provide maximum grip and fast lap times. Concrete curbs and 2 metre wide rumble strips also enhance the racing experience.

The Karts
The karts are JB Revolution pro-karts with twin Honda GX160 four stroke engines of 5.5Hp each. Gearing is set to give a top speed of 50mph, although if the track were longer they could accelerate up to 70mph plus.  That’s pretty quick when your bum is only a few inches off the deck.

The Race
The endurance race format is a team event (generally 2-3 to a team). The object being to cover the greatest number of laps in the allotted time.  Each driver spends approximately 25 minutes at the wheel (including 5 minutes practice), which means that in teams of three the race itself will be one hour long. All teams are on the track at the same time so overtaking, pit stops and strategy play a huge part in determining the eventual winner. A display screen near the pits keeps everyone up to date on the leaders and slowcoaches.

Overview
There is karting and there is ‘hold on for grim death bring a clean pair of underpants' karting. This experience definitely falls into the later. 390cc Thunderkarts capable of 70mph, on a race tarmac 650 metre floodlit outdoor track, make this the best karting experience you will get in the midlands.

Race Format
After a sign in and a race briefing, depending upon the numbers in your group and the number of other drivers in the race you will be split into teams of up to four people per kart. You will then take part in a short practice session to get you warmed up with the handling of the karts and the circuit layout. The race will start after ‘gridding up', and then full non-stop racing, the winning team being the team completing the most number of laps within the allotted time spam. The race length depends upon the number of people per team - which is worked out by multiplying the number of drivers per team x ½ hour (eg if three drivers per team the race will last 1½ hrs, 4 drivers per team and the race will last 2 hrs). Therefore each driver will get approximately ½ hr behind the wheel.

The Karts
Built by Bill Sisley (recognised as the foremost karting expert in the UK with over 35 years experience in all aspects of the sport, manufacturing British championship winning karts for ten consecutive years) , these babies are no pussycats - full race spec 15bhp karts with 4 stroke Honda GX390cc engines. In the right hands they are capable of 70mph.

The Track
650m long race tarmac surfaced, with full run-off areas, marshals, changing facilities and electronic lap timing. The circuit has a series of very tight turn for high G force and a couple of open turns that can be taken flat out.

Duration
Depends upon the size of the race (see race format). Allow approximately 1 hour (for briefing, kitting up, trophy presentation plus race time). For Saturday booking the races are likely to be fairly large so most likely 1½ - 2 hours in duration.

The Track:
The track has been designed to allow plenty of overtaking opportunities. Safety is kept firmly in mind as the tyres that mark out the track are surrounded by piping that prevents the tyres from scattering and karts from crossing into the path of others if any impact occurs.

The Grand Prix Format:
- Group arrival and registration
- Kit allocation: Racing suits, full racing helmets and gloves are provided.
- Drivers briefing: Resident professional instructor will brief all drivers on safety, racing lines, flag signals and kart handling.
- Practice: 1 X 5 laps per driver
- Heats: 4 X 8 laps per driver
- The fastest drivers go through to the semi finals: 1 X 10 laps
- The fastest drivers go through to the final: 1 X 12 laps
- Presentation: Trophies for the top 3 place getters.

Duration:
Approximately 2-2.5 hours, depending on group size.
