Overview:
You've seen the entrepreneurs on Dragon's Den asking for outrageous amounts of money to bankroll their hair-brained business schemes, now it's your turn to put your thinking cap on and design a product that will have our Dragons fighting each other to finance you. This event is a fun way of getting people to work together while handling timescales, budget restraints and practising their presentation skills.
Working in teams you must design and build a new product for a specific industry (leisure, travel, toy etc.) within an allocated budget. Excellent team work is crucial and each team has to decide who'll be in charge of product design, production, sales and marketing, finance and product development.
Each team will be allocated an instructor who'll help with generating ideas and give you tips about how best to utilise your budget and how to win over the Dragons!
The teams will be given time to decide what type of product they want to make before going to the Supplies Superstore to buy materials. At the Superstore it's first come first served and you may need to use your best bargaining skills.
Your group's practical skills will then be tested as you have to build your product. Once you've done that, it'll be time to present your product to the daunting Dragons.
Planning your presentation is key. The Dragons will quiz you on all areas of your business, so you better have all of your facts and projected figures at your fingertips.
After all teams have given their presentations, the Dragons will decide which team's invention deserves the £100,000 prize fund.
The top two teams will receive medals with the top team receiving a trophy.
